About the opportunity
Through close contact with teachers and youth leaders in the schools, the volunteer will witness their own culture and participate in the school's social, cultural, and educational activities as an ambassador of their culture. The volunteer will organize events/exhibitions related to their country, propose creative workshops, and language support games, support teachers in preparing for external school exchanges and clubs during students' free time, and assist with school outreach activities. The volunteer will be encouraged to propose their own projects.
In addition, the volunteer will participate in a group project around Europe organized in conjunction with other European volunteers hosted in Redon, and will have time during office hours dedicated to this specific project as well as French language lessons.

Training while volunteering
- The volunteer will receive support from the school's teachers and a school counselor, who will take time to listen to him, answer his questions, and guide him in activities.
- He will also receive the support of the EU Coordinator in Mapar (the Coordinating Agency), who will support him throughout his stay.
- The volunteer will also take French language lessons throughout the project.

Financing
- The volunteer will share a furnished apartment with other European volunteers in Redon, or with French volunteers.
- Each person has their own bedroom, and roommates have to share the living room, kitchen, and bathroom.
- The apartment is located a 15-20 minute walk from schools and 10 minutes from the city center.
- Volunteers can also use a bicycle to get around the city.
- Volunteers must take care of the apartment and keep it clean and tidy.

- Volunteers will live together as a group of four in an apartment in Cologne. Each person will have their own room and a shared kitchen. You will receive a monthly stipend to cover food costs, allowing you to arrange your own meals.
- You'll also get a free pass to use all trains and buses (and even bike rentals).
- Cologne has a good public transportation network, making it easy to get around.

Admission criteria
- The candidate should be enthusiastic about working in a school with adolescents, including those experiencing difficulties, and participating in a team.
- The right candidate should be dynamic, independent, empathetic, comfortable with and talking to teenagers, and willing to share their passion, hobbies, and artistic techniques with students.
- Applications from candidates over 20 years old with basic French language skills (A2-B1) will be highly appreciated.
- Proficiency in one of the other languages taught at the school (English, German, Italian, Spanish) will be an added advantage for admission and communication with students.
