Manisa Celâl Bayar Üniversitesi relies on competitive admission criteria, giving priority to official examinations:

Unified YÖS Exam (TR-YÖS):

• It is the essential criterion for admission to competitive majors.
• Minimum grade requirements: vary depending on the specialization, but usually range between 70% and above for human medicine and dentistry, and 50% to 60% for engineering and administrative specializations.

YÖS tests for other universities:

• The university accepts YÖS results issued by a limited number of other Turkish state universities (such as Ege University or Dokuz Eylül University), with high scores.

International Certificates (SAT/GCE):  

• The university accepts the SAT test.
• Minimum grade requirements: A minimum grade of 1100/1600 is preferred for competing for engineering majors, and it rises to 1300/1600 for medicine.

Secondary school certificate (Tawjihi/Baccalaureate):

• Accepted for selection: The university accepts applications based on the high school GPA for the remaining seats after the exam quotas have been filled.
• Minimum average: Not less than 70% in general, rising to 90% and above for medical specialties, where competition is fierce.

Essential documents required: 

• A personal photograph.
• A copy of a valid passport.
• High school diploma (baccalaureate) translated into Turkish or English and certified.
• The transcript is translated and certified, showing the grades for all years of high school.
• A test certificate (TR-YÖS / SAT) or its equivalent (if available, and is essential for health specialties).
• Application form (to be filled out electronically).

Additional documents (final confirmation or postgraduate studies): ​

• Equivalence Certificate: A document proving the equivalence of the secondary school certificate to the Turkish certificate.
• Turkish Language Proficiency Certificate (TÖMER): Level C1 for programs taught in Turkish.
• English language proficiency certificate (TOEFL/YDS): Required for programs taught partly or entirely in English.
• For graduate studies: a letter of motivation, letters of recommendation, and ALES (for some majors) or GRE/GMAT exam results.

The university follows a relatively fixed annual calendar for international students, and data will be updated as it becomes available:

Application period begins (first selection):

It usually opens in late June (month 6) or early July (month 7).

Application deadline:

It lasts for approximately two weeks, ending in mid-July.

Results announcement:

It takes place in late July or early August.

Confirmation of acceptance: 

It takes place during the month of August.

Vacancy selection (second selection):

If there are still vacant seats, the university usually opens a second application period in late August or early September.

The selection process:

• Priority: Given to students with the highest scores in TR-YÖS.
• Medical specialties: A very high percentage of seats are allocated to holders of TR-YÖS or SAT with high requirements.

• Grade-based selection: High school grades are considered for students who have not taken the YÖS exam, and are compared to a minimum grade point average that varies according to the specialization.
