The university includes a diverse range of colleges, most notably:

Faculty of Engineering and Architecture:

These include: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mining Engineering, and Architectural Engineering.

Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences:

These include: Business Administration, Economics, and Public Administration.

Faculty of Arts and Sciences:

These include: History, Turkish Language and Literature, Kurdish Language and Literature, Physics and Chemistry.

Faculty of Agricultural Sciences:

These include: agricultural engineering, horticulture.

Faculty of Applied Sciences:

These include: accounting and finance, and management information systems.

Other faculties:

The university adopts a flexible policy in accepting international students, and the priorities are as follows:

Unified YÖS Exam (TR-YÖS):

• The university requires average competitive grades
• Minimum scores: The minimum score for general application is usually 200 out of 500,
• But it rises to around 250-300 for engineering disciplines.

International Certificates (SAT/IB):

• Some certificates such as the SAT or International Baccalaureate (IB) may be accepted, but priority is often given to the TR-YÖS or high school GPA.

Secondary school certificate (Tawjihi/Baccalaureate):

• The university relies heavily on high school GPA for admission.
• The minimum grade requirement: A minimum grade of 60% is required for general application.
• However, to ensure acceptance into engineering and architecture, grades above 70-75% are preferred.

Essential documents required (for online application):

• A recent personal photo.
• A copy of a valid passport.
• Original high school diploma translated into Turkish and certified.
• The grade reports are translated into Turkish and certified.
• Exam result document (TR-YÖS).

Additional documents (upon final confirmation or for postgraduate studies):

Equivalence Certificate:

• A document proving the equivalence of the high school diploma to the Turkish diploma (obtained from the Turkish embassy or the Directorate of Education in Türkiye).

Turkish Language Proficiency Certificate (TÖMER):

• Level B2 or C1 is usually required. If the student does not have this level, they must take an exemption exam at the university or study a preparatory year for the language.

For postgraduate studies:

• Motivation letter.
• Letters of recommendation.
• Summary of the Master's thesis (for PhD applicants).

Applications will be accepted for approximately two weeks, ending in late July or early August.

Results announcement:

It takes place in the middle of August.

Confirming academic enrollment:

It takes place in late August and early September.

Vacancy selection (second selection):

The university often announces a second round in September to fill vacant seats.

The selection process:

• The selection process is done online.
• Students are ranked based on the scores obtained in the entrance examinations (TR-YÖS).
• Or based on the cumulative grade point average of the high school diploma in non-competitive majors.
