Amasya Üniversitesi

Amasya University is a Turkish public university located in the province of Amasya. It was officially established on March 17, 2006, by Law No. 5467, published in Official Gazette No. 26111. The university is unique in that it combines a relatively recent establishment with the academic reach of older higher education institutions in the region. Its official mission statement emphasizes that it was built upon the experience of previous educational units, such as the Amasya Faculty of Education, vocational schools, and health schools/colleges, thus providing it with a cumulative educational foundation despite its relatively recent founding.

The university is distinguished by its academic diversity, encompassing faculties of education, science, arts, fine arts, theology, economics, architecture, engineering, health sciences, and medicine, in addition to graduate schools and several vocational schools (MYOs) located throughout the province. International admission documents also indicate that the university annually opens specific programs for international students within advertised places (Kontenjan), selecting students according to clear criteria that prioritize the TR-YÖS exam, along with Turkish language requirements (usually C1) or a language preparation course through the university's Turkish Language Center (AÜ TÖMER).
