Aksaray Üniversitesi

Aksaray University is a Turkish public university located in Aksaray Province in the Central Anatolia Region. Although it was recently established as an independent university in 2006, its academic roots are older; the university's official history indicates an extension dating back to 1986 with the commencement of education in one of its units affiliated with Selçuk University. Existing units were then transferred to Niğde University after its establishment in 1992. On March 17, 2006, Aksaray University was officially established by Law No. 5467 published in Official Gazette No. 26111, with the existing academic units being re-affiliated with the new university.

Today, the university boasts a wide academic diversity, encompassing faculties in medical and health fields (such as medicine and dentistry), engineering, basic and human sciences, as well as a veterinary medicine faculty and a faculty of tourism and Islamic studies. The university also includes graduate schools and vocational schools (MYO) in several districts, offering practical and professional pathways alongside theoretical programs. The International Student Unit emphasizes that the primary language of instruction is Turkish, with a clear path to demonstrate language proficiency through accredited certificates or through the university's Turkish Language Center, up to the C1 level.

  • The minimum score for application in TR-YÖS is 200 or higher, noting that the minimum may vary depending on the program if the annual announcement stipulates special conditions.

Secondary school certificate (Tawjihi/Baccalaureate):

  • Applications can be submitted based on the high school diploma grade/grade, provided that it is not less than 50/100 as a minimum.

Other requirements:

  • Special abilities programs (such as: the College of Sports Science, and some art/music education specializations) require a special talent/abilities test and submission of a certificate of success upon registration, and a full health report may be required for some cases.
  • The Department of English Language and Literature requires the university to provide proof of a B1 level in English, with examples of tests and minimum scores (such as YDS 60, IELTS 4.0–5.0, etc.).
